Doug apprenticed in the turf industry starting at a young age assisting his father who worked as a golf course superintendent in the Eugene, Oregon area. After graduating high school, he attended BYU and earned a degree in Horticulture and Agronomy. He used his education and experience serving as golf course superintendent on courses in California and Oregon.
In 1983 Doug had an opportunity to start a seed company, which gave him the opportunity to combine his experience and education with his love of research/marketing and development. He invented several seed products, which are used exclusively by several golf courses, municipalities and professional venues.
Doug has college teaching credentials presenting many opportunities to speak at seminars on turf management. He has also spoken on several local and national radio/tv programs.
Doug enjoys helping people create a great lawn, which helps cool the environment, filter the air and provides a safe recreational environment for families and businesses.
